A disappointing result in Almelo

After the lovely win of previous week against Rivo Rijssen everyone was hyped to win the second game after the Christmas break as well. This is an impossible challenge without a good lunch before the match. So all the stormtwoopers gather at Frank’s place for an amazing lunch while watching the Olympics. After the lunch we went to Almelo to play a match against Aastad.

We started the first set with a lot of individual mistakes and the opponent's middle blocker was playing very well. So we started the first set with a large disadvantage. We tried to get back but there were the whole set too much individual mistakes to make this happen. The set ended at 25-17.

The second set, we started with a few small changes in our line-up. We started this set a lot better than the previous one and also the rest of the set was better, but it wasn’t enough to win the second set. It ended at a score of 25-23.

After losing the second set, the third and fourth set were like the first set. A lot of individual mistakes and directly at the beginning of the set a big gap in the score between Aastad and the stormtwoopers. These sets ended at 25-12 and 25-16.

Although the disappointing game we had some nice beers in the canteen together with DS2, who played their match against Aastad next to us. Hopefully we will be playing Friday on our highest performance again and have an impressive win against Apollo 8!
