Trans4mers earn first points by winning undefeated Vrivo Gents 1

Gents 4's match day started with the consumption of hearty Javanese-Surinamese bami noodles with chicken, cooked by Kevin. This was followed by cheering Gents 2 to victory and then it was really their turn. As the warming up began, it was already clear that Vrivo was taller than the Trans4mers. Captain Mart had already warned that Vrivo was leading the poule at that point, but the Trans4mers were not afraid of that at all. With the 3 intruders Pim, Swen and Hein, they had to be able to do it.

After rolling out pretty slow in the first set, it was a real nailbiter in the end of the set. In the end, it was difficult for Gents 4's attackers to get past the big block of their opponents (28-26). However, the Trans4mers did not give in and started the second set with great enthusiasm. Libero Vince acquitted himself well in the backfield. This set was ended in style by a beautiful set, in which the middle block was outplayed by setter Kevin, and brilliant diagonal attack by Martin (25-23).

The Trans4mers continued with the same spirit in the third set, with some crucial substitutions being made in this set by Optimus Prime Gerben. Setter Hein was able to take care of the poorer passes in this set and diagonal Swen brought some more power in the team. The service pressure of the Trans4mers was increased and the somewhat shorter attackers Pim and Martin passed the block with clever balls via the hands of the opponent (25-22).

In the 4th set, Vrivo only got more frustrated by the difficult service of Gents 4 and they hardly managed to attack (25-12). To celebrate this victory, the Oktoberfest playlist was on in the locker room after the match and the team enjoyed beer and delicious cake made by Maarten in the canteen.
