OPERATION "Derby Demolition"
Commando’s Log: Friday, 30 January 2026 – Mission failure
Filed by Commando: TheLaW
After losing our previous battle, the commandos were hungry to return to winning ways.
But fate had other plans.
This time we faced a tough opponent, one we had never defeated before. The stakes were high. This wasn’t just another match; this was a chance to break a barrier that had stood in front of us for too long.
Set 1 — The Slip
For once, we started strong.
Good motion. Good energy. Good vibes.
The enemy pushed, but we pushed harder. It was a true back-and-forth battle, point for point, neither side willing to give an inch. When we approached the 20-point mark, the tension was thick.
And that’s when it happened.
A slight loss of focus. A small crack in discipline.
The enemy seized that moment with experience and precision. What had been a tight fight suddenly tilted in their favor.
Set lost.
Set 2 — Off day
Chief attempted to shake things up in the second set, adjusting strategy and personnel. But sometimes… it’s just not your day. The substitutes were not able to bring the energy they usually do. Every team has those moments.
Focus slipped quickly. We tried to regroup, made minor adjustments, searched for rhythm, but nothing seemed to stick. The enemy smelled hesitation and capitalized on it immediately.
They took the second set with control.
Now our backs were against the wall.
Set 3 — Do or Die
Kill or be killed.
Do or die.
We’ve been here before. But this time, energy was low, and the mountain felt steep. Still, the commandos don’t fold under pressure. We returned to our previous setup, simplified the mission, and fought like everything depended on it.
Every point mattered. Every rally was war.
And through sheer determination, we took the set.
Hope was restored.
Set 4 — Experience Speaks
The mission wasn’t over. To win the battle, we had to take this set as well.
What followed was brutal.
We adapted. They adapted faster.
We attacked. They countered.
We adjusted. They anticipated.
Their experience showed. They had studied us. They were prepared for every weapon in our arsenal and had a response ready for each one.
In the end, that experience became the deciding factor.
They took the set and with it, the battle.
Final Debrief
We fought hard.
We improved.
But the mountain remains unconquered.
Some opponents beat you with power.
Others beat you with experience.
The mission may have failed — but the objective still stands.
And one day, we will climb that mountain.
