Harambee Deux - WEVO ‘70 Hs1

Lieve superfan,
voor ik u vertel over het schouwspel van afgelopen zaterdag, willen we u vragen om een gunst. Omdat het bestuur van Harambee, om onverklaarbare redenen, geen marketing budget voor ons wilt vrijstellen vragen we u onze mond tot mond vertegenwoordiger te worden. Stuur dit bericht naar minstens 5 volleybal liefhebbers (die ons nog niet volgen), laat ze @HarambeeDeux volgen en DM ons bewijs. Een van de gelukkigen die dit doet maakt kans op een grote prijs die wij aanstaande vrijdag bekend maken op de thuisdag.
De wedstrijd in weerselo was er weer eentje hoor. De heren mochten in verzwakte vorm aantreden tegen WEVO, ik hoor u denken “hoe verzwakt?”. Om antwoord te geven op uw vraag; er waren zoveel afwezigen dat Chiel als passer loper moest spelen.
Ondanks een geweldige service serie van onze prachtspellie Ivar ging de eerste set verloren. Omdat de heren geen zin hadden in een herhaling van ISIVOL zetten zij keihard aan en werd de tweede set, grotendeels dankzij MOTM Martijn, gewonnen. Maarja, als ze de tweede set winnen, geven ze de 3e wel weg. Uiteindelijk ging de overwinning na 5 sets uiteraard gewoon mee naar Enschede. De heren hebben zich als doel gesteld om het maximale uit hen contributie te halen en dat is tot nu toe goed gelukt dus.
Na de wedstrijd was het weer tijd voor de bierestaffete. Omdat het wordt estafette heel ingewikkeld is om te spellen, zeker als je in Weerselo naar school bent geweest, konden zij binnen een luttele 45 minuten maar 3 vrijwilligers vinden. Om het eerlijk te maken is het toen een 3 vs 4 geworden. De arrogantie van de studenten kwam ze duur te staan, want halverwege Jim’s biertje, waren de drie, alcoholistisch uitziende, vijftigers al klaar. Dit betekent dat er op dit moment vaker is verloren met de bierestaffete dan in het volleybalveld.
Namens het gehele team bieden wij u ons excuses aan voor deze wanprestatie.
We hopen u aanstaande vrijdag weer te zien, 19:00 SC1 tegen Vips Bardot h3.

before I tell you about last Saturday's spectacle, we would like to ask you for a favour. Since the Harambee board, inexplicably, does not want to release a marketing budget for us, we ask you to become our word-of-mouth representative. Send this message to at least 5 volleyball fans (who are not already following us), get them to follow @HarambeeDeux and DM our proof. One of the lucky ones who does so will have a chance to win a grand prize which we will announce on home day next Friday.
The match in weerselo was another one hooray. The men had to face WEVO in weakened form, I hear you thinking "how weakened?". To answer your question, there were so many absentees that Chiel had to play as outside hitter.
Despite a great service series by our wonderful Ivar, the first set was lost. As the men were not in the mood for a repeat of ISIVOL, they pushed hard and won the second set, largely thanks to MOTM Martijn. But then again, winning the second set did give away the 3rd. In the end, of course, after 5 sets, the victory just went with them to Enschede. The men have set themselves the goal of getting the most out of their contribution and so far they have succeeded well.
After the match, it was again time for the beer relay. Since being relayed is very complicated to spell, especially if you went to school in Weerselo, they could only find 3 volunteers within a mere 45 minutes. To make it fair, it then became a 3 vs 4. The students' arrogance cost them dearly, because halfway through Jim's beer, the three, alcoholic-looking, fifty-somethings had already finished. This means that at this point, they lost more often with the beer tie than in the volleyball court.
