A match with mixed feelings

On February 8, it was time for the match against TiMaX/DeVoKo. Starting with the positive news: we won another set! Moreover, we can be very satisfied with how we played according to (substitute) coach Marijn, who replaced Herwin as he had his team weekend. But if you keep in mind that we won against these opponents last time, nota bene in an away match, we had hoped for more. Besides, we have to do it with only one setter for the coming time, after the other was injured during the third set.

Right in the first set we were playing alert and going for every ball. We also managed to keep the atmosphere and energy up both along the side and on the court. This led to a 25-20 set win. In the second set the encouragement from the side became less and we had more trouble finding the holes with the ball. It ended up being 18-25. Then came the third set. In it Emilie got injured, but also a lot happened on the court next to us. This did not help our focus, but also the opponents' focus. But unfortunately it affected us just a little bit more and the set passed us by with 19-25. The fourth set also ended with that score, even though we were not playing that badly at all. But because we just had too much trouble getting the ball on their ground, we were unable to score enough points.

Op 8 februari was het tijd voor de wedstrijd tegen TiMaX/DeVoKo. Beginnend met het positieve nieuws: We hebben weer eens een set gewonnnen! Bovendien mogen we zeer tevreden zijn met hoe we gespeeld hebben volgens (inval)coach Marijn, die Herwin verving want hij had zijn teamweekend. Maar als je in je achterhoofd houd dat we de vorige keer van deze tegenstanders gewonnen hadden, nota bene in een uitwedstrijd, hadden we op meer gehoopt. Bovendien moeten we het de komende tijd met nog maar 1 setter doen, nadat de ander gedurende de derde set geblesseerd is geraakt.

Gelijk in de eerste set waren we alert aan het spelen en gingen we voor elke bal. Ook wisten we de sfeer en energie er zowel langs de kant als in het veld er goed in te houden. Dit leidde tot een 25-20 setwinst. In de tweede set werd de aanmoediging vanaf de kant minder en kregen we wat meer moeite om met de bal de gaten bij hun in het veld op te zoeken. Het werd uiteindelijk 18-25. Toen kwam de derde set. Hierin raakte Emilie geblesseerd, maar ook op het veld naast ons gebeurde er een hoop. Dit kwam onze focus, maar ook de tegenstanders' focus niet ten goede. Maar helaas ondervonden wij er net iets meer last van en ging de set aan ons voorbij met 19-25. Ook de vierde set eindigde met die stand, ook al stonden we helemaal niet zo slecht te spelen. Maar doordat we net iets te veel moeite hadden met de bal op hun grond te krijgen, wisten we niet voldoende punten te scoren.
