Campus update 14/01/23

Dear students,

Last Saturday we had a home game against SVH VC, last time we lost with 3 – 2, so we were motivated to win this time. We had a lot of injuries and/or absences, resulting in one of our opposites, being put on libero; our libero being put on outside and we once again requested the aid of Casper of gents 6 to strengthen the outside and the opposite positions.

We did not have lunch this time, resulting in a late arrival of a majority of the team. This did however not matter as our referee was not yet available to start, as his own match was taking longer anyway.

After a long warming up, the match could start. In the beginning of the first set, we needed a bit get used to our unusual position, while in the end we started playing better and getting close to the win. If we had played the second set as we ended in the previous one, we would have had better odds in winning this set, however we lost the fun halfway through and therefore our psychological advantage. So, we needed to mix things up in the third set, this time the opponent lost the fun in their play and started to get annoyed, and we started scoring more and even winning this set. We wanted to continue this into the fourth set to get a fifth set, however the opponent’s attack triumphed, also losing us the fourth set.

Next match is tonight against Set-Up ’65 in Ootmarsum, last time we lost with 1 – 3, therefore it promises to be a though match, but we are going to try our best anyway.
