Swimming association extinguishes winning streak

With a (soon to be) winning streak on our side, it was time to visit the site in Oldenzaal. Before this we went schaften at Toms place, where we had spaghetti with not-so-meat balls. While we had a few workers canceling, we luckily found sufficient substitutes to help the heavy lifting.   The first set started and we really showed them how much muscle we can grow from some almost-meatballs. The sets that were given were quick enough to keep the opponents middles from closing the block. On one point even th... Lees meer

Nogsteeds op een set-winningspree!

Goooeeeedemiddag!

From Groundwork to Handover: 4-0 geen gelul

Still a bit claustrophobic from our last match we prepared ourselves for another match against Mare Volley. Since this time we would not have height restrictions we’ve already put down a proper foundation for the win. But before we could do any work we had to take a break with dinner at the freshly constructed home of Olaf on the Boulevard.   Arriving in the hall Gents 2 luckily won the game in the first 3 sets. We don’t talk about bruno the last set. The safety inspector (referee) cleared the field an... Lees meer

Breaking through the roof in Denekamp

In preparation of our next match, we were invited over at Nicolai's place for dinner. Since the living room required 7 couches, there was no room left to eat and the dining tables were placed over the length of the hallway. On both sides of the table was just enough room to fit our enormous chests, which quickly lead to teammates pushing their coworkers against the wall. After a quick inquiry amongst the roommates we figured that none of them actually considered it as weird.    For our second match, we we... Lees meer

Building the basis in Borne

For our first match of the season the construction peeps had to travel to the familiar Borne. Before that we needed a solid foundation. For this we gathered at our usual keet; the sports centre. For this our Foreman Mart brought buns, which quickly started the feud between white vs brown buns; the century old discussion between fibers and grade of moisture.   After watching some other Harambee teams build a solid start of their season, we were well motivated to visit the construction site in Borne. Due to ... Lees meer

"Operation Vips VANQUISH" ... but it wasn't

Commando's Log; Thursday, 6 November 2025 – TheLaW reporting for duty Before we dive into the events of this mission, I’d like to take a moment to salute my fellow commando who held the line while I was on leave from the battlefield.I had been granted temporary leave to visit family and recharge, but now I’m back — boots laced, ready for action, and eager to get back into the fight. Mission Briefing This battle wasn’t just another match on the schedule — it meant something. This squad was the fi... Lees meer

WE WON (one set)

Yes yes, today it was time for another match! And for the first time, we can actually show our Winnieh the Two shirts!    What the attentive reader may have noticed, is that we still have no libero with us. So again, some improvisations were made. Luckily, our outsiders and middles are so supremely good in service pass, we didn’t need a libero today.    I will talk some statistics in a moment, but first, a quick question. What do you think happened in the fifth point?  A. A dog ran into the field B. ... Lees meer

After exam week

We had to warm up in the first set. It worked out in the second set. Not in the third set. We were close in the fourth set, but we could not keep our lead.   The match made us cry, But then there was apple pie. We could have used some energy drinks, To give us wings. Next time we are going to fly!... Lees meer

More libero’s than opposites

In the absence of your usual reporter, who thoroughly enjoyed his leave from the strict commandos regime, you will receive the match report from someone else this week. Last Friday (01-11), Gents commandos was finally able to show their true team during the official opening weekend. With a new uniform, new yell and a roaring homecrowd at the start of the evening, there is nothing we would miss. Well that was obviously wrong, with few of our regular troops being on leave to other places and one of our set... Lees meer
