second home weekend

Last Friday we had our second home game of the season. We started with a lovely dinner, read pasta pesto, at Anouk's house. Luckily for us, this was close to the sports centre since the weather was shit. But this could not ruin our good mood. We could play for the first time in our shiny new shirts!! All the reason to make a nice picture again!

As for the game itself, we had to play against the number one. They have never lost a set this season and already played 3 games. It looked to be a nice game. The first set was unfortunately lost with 14 against 25. However, we had a good comeback in the second set and were even able to win! The opponents were not happy. All girls were blond and bitchy and could not take a loss. Zico especially enjoyed this. Unfortunately, the last two sets were lost as well but we were quite happy to grab a set against the number 1. We were the first team to do so, something to be proud of. One of the downsides of losing is that we all get a little down in the field and are not cheering each other on as much as we do when it goes well.

After the match we enjoyed some well deserved cake in the canteen and had a recap of the game. One of the improvements were the block and some communication. This will be trained.
After the official business was done, we could relax and drink our beverages. We learned that our libero never had been to the Mac Donalds. So naturally when the sports canteen closed we biked to the Mac. Here we all learned some cool Greek words and met a really drunk girl. It was quite the evening. We all look forward to the next one!
