First match! Probably not the last!

Today was our first match together! We played against Rivo in riijjjjjjssseeeeen and it was not long rijssen, just a half hour with the car (we are so happy with our amazing teammembers who have a car) After taking this party ride we arrived at the sport hall (halletje) in Rijssen. Putting on those competition shirts on for the first time sure was exiting and we, after a lot of struggels, found our right size (kind of). 

For some of us even warming up was new but we are fast learners so yay! Our first victory: we are warmed up.  Now the serious buisness could begin and after a bit we even found our captain and could begin the match. The hall was amazing in size, there were 2 field and on the other field there was a active yoga session. Don't know how zen it is to do yoga next to a volleyball match but they seemed more zen than us.

The actual match went as expected for a poule 4 (us) against a poule 2, good enough. With a great 3-0 we went home with a loss but we at least scored more than 7 ('vo) points every set! For a team still struggling with rotation, setting, recieving, hitting, etc and even the yell: we did pretty great!

Afterwards it was time to talk with the other team in the dressing room and we got to know the almost retiring women of Reissen who struggled a lot with English but were very interested in knowing the young folk from the city. 

Afterwards we had a drink to celebrate our victory and discuss our new tactics: [ insert tactics ] the next match will probably be better but no promises!
