Saturday, 28th of September, the gents one direction had its first home game and final cup match in the pool stages. The stands were filled with spectators and their cheering songs were heard from far far away. We also had the Beaver mascot cheering for us, who probably sweat more in that costume, while entertaining the crowd, than the players on the court. Dear reader(s), Our second cup match also took place on a Wednesday. This time not in Enschede, but in Borne. We left in good spirits after a nice dinner with almost the whole team. Once we arrived, it was time to change and start warming up. As the game began, we found we should have warmed up a little better. In fact, within just under ten minutes, we were already facing a 16-7 deficit. Het is weer tijd! De eerste thuis wedstrijd en de laatste bekerwedstrijd (spoiler alert) van het seizoen. Door de verjaardag van Harambee konden we heerlijk genieten van een feestmaal ZONDER AFWAS! Echter, hield dit feestmaal geen rekening met de snelheid van onze spijsvertering. Gents 1 had a second cup match on Friday, the 20th of September. We went up against the second team coached by Monica, Volley ‘68 HS1. They are the second team of Monica’s because that was very obviously indicated in the results of the match. Gents 1 came out victorious, winning 3:0 and finishing the opponents off quick. Our volleyball team just experienced one of the most exhilarating matches of the season, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Wevo 70 HS 1. It was a battle of nerves and resilience from start to finish. We opened the match with a tense first set, winning our opponents in a nail-biting finish. However, the momentum quickly shifted in the second set, where Wevo 70 HS 1 dominated us. But we regrouped, came back with force, and completely controlled the third set. Today was our first match together! We played against Rivo in riijjjjjjssseeeeen and it was not long rijssen, just a half hour with the car (we are so happy with our amazing teammembers who have a car) After taking this party ride we arrived at the sport hall (halletje) in Rijssen. Dear reader(s),  After the vaka*, it was finally time to play our first (cup) match of the year, spannie! This  was scheduled midweek, so, unfortunately, we had to skip the wo(e)mibo, because the match had, of course, our prio. But no worries, we had a hdp dinner mdm (and of course, Herwin). Het is weer zover! De tweede beker wedstrijd van dames Brie! Het begon allemaal met lekkere lasagne bij Sophie thuis. Na een enorm lange fietstocht werden we heel erg welkom geheten in de Pathmoshal. On the 12th of September Gents 1 had their first Cup match against Vips Bardot H3, where they went up against their once good friends Pim and Yuri. During the warmup some nice words were exchanged between us and our old companions, however from the first points onwards no mercy was shown.  We started off strong by leading 4:0 in the first set. Ja ja ja! Het seizoen is weer begonnen! En hoe kan dat beter dan met een lekkere  lunch brunch. En toen begon het al, de DRAMAAAA, want de bus viel uit waardoor er 3 mensen ineens niet meer mee konden. Gelukkig kwam Emma met haar auto tot de redding, waardoor de 3 verloren dames-drieërs mooi mee naar Haaksbergen konden. Gelukkig waren we ruim optijd, en konden we lekker aan de wedstrijd beginnen.
