Zaterdag 11 januari 2025 A new year, a fresh mindset, and a team ready to make a statement. That was the energy as Harambee H1 travelled to the distant lands of Nunspeet to take on Hellas HS 1. The winter break seemed to have done wonders—legs were fresh, communication was sharp, and we were locked in from the first point. The first set started strong. We kunnen natuurlijk heel uitgebreid schrijven over de wedstrijd van dit laatste thuisweekend, maar eigenlijk zitten we in het midden van een veel belangrijkere strijd. We hebben het natuurlijk over de team-van-het-jaar finale! Morgen is het dan zover. Hier hebben we het hele jaar naartoe gewerkt. On Saturday the 22nd of March, the antepenultimate (yes, I also googled this, it means 'third-last' but then fancy) match for Harambee Gents 1 in the championship race took place, against Wivoc 1. After a delightful lunch made possible by Taric & Vince, we left for Winterswijk.   On Valentine's day 2025, the first clash of the titans in the 3rd division took place in Borne. The difference in the rankings between both teams was very small and the coming two games would play a very important game in the championship race in the 3rd division. Playing against several old team members from Harambee also gave this game another extra challenge. On the 8th of March, a week after the game against Apollo H1, where the fighters of H1 got revenge after the previous game against our closest rivals, the H1 men were back against Vips Bardot H2 and our old companion Yuri. Afgelopen weekend was het dan zover, de meest besproken wedstrijd van ons seizoen! Om te begrijpen waar dit over gaat moeten we een paar maanden terug in de tijd. Aan het begin van het seizoen viel ons direct op dat er een wedstrijd gepland was tijdens het BIX weekend op zaterdag om 18:00 in Almelo. Wat is een betere manier om van het zonnetje te genieten, dan met een teamdate met heren 4?! En dat is precies hoe wij dit thuisweekend begonnen.    In de keuken van Lianne, met lactose vrij ijs als snack, hebben we een heerlijke shaksuka bereid die in de laatste zonnestraaltjes opgegeten kon worden. Oei, het ging bijna mis. Na alle euforie van deze geweldige wedstrijd vergaten we halsoverkop een blog te schrijven?! Onze trouwe lezers mogen wij natuurlijk niet teleurstellen.    Wat was er nou zo geweldig aan afgelopen weddie? Moreover, we can be very satisfied with how we played according to (substitute) coach Marijn, who replaced Herwin as he had his team weekend.
