Galaxy domination

We, the StormTWOopers are on a quest to dominate the competition, uh.. galaxy! And Friday we reached one step closer to that.

It all started at the campus house of our youngest recruit, Quinten, where we had a plate of spaghetti. With some great musical accompaniment, we made our way towards the SPC for some coffee.

A bit later we found ourselves on the field facing the well-known Vips. Albeit, slightly underrepresented due to injuries. Even René, ex-Harambeeër, had to watch from the stands, rather than from the bench ;p

The first set started great, with a few spikes we showed them we are taking the game seriously. Although the Vips showed some resistance at times, we cleanly secured the set with 25-19.

Next set, we faltered a bit in our dedication, copying some of the nonchalance that the Vips inhabit. This caused some mistakes, like serve faults and meant that we had to pull a bit harder towards the end of the set. Winning it at 25-22 was a good motivation for the third set though.

In set 3 the quality of play went up and down once more, becoming the signature of this game. This was the closest final score yet at 25-23. The final set we won with 25-22 and that was the end of the game. 

Although there were some mixed feelings about the performance, a won game is still a won game and we made sure to celebrate that!! With some snacks and shower beer of course. Not any shower beer, a Grab Bag with a large variety of specialty beers was a great success. Rick was the lucky one to grab Kannon and Henny was satisfied with his Guinness!
