Gents 5 - Rivo Rijssen

On the day of the arrival of Sinterklaas, we scored our second victory in Rijssen.

Because our coaches had other obligations, we were supported by Ms. Abbes from ladies 5.

In the first set we started of equally, and after about 20 minutes we won because we made less mistakes.

In the second set after a rough start, we eventually prevailed winning this set with a difference of two more than last. This set we also showed our tactical side; we started one rotation back and because our libero could once again not be there, we implemented a substitution scheme for one of our mid players when he entered the back of the field.

Now we needed to win only one more set. In the third set started off with the referee being confused about our positions in the field, it is not easy when two players swap before the set. This set is also the set we started to get a bit creative, with the first ball being a set from the setter followed by an attack. We played really well, and the set resulted already in the victory for gents 5.

However, we wanted more. In the final set we once again had a rough start, nevertheless we still won resulting in a 0 – 4 victory.

This Saturday (tomorrow) we have a home game and play against Time Out’75, who we lost to on their turf, so it promises to be exciting match.

Before I am going to end off with a little poem, I would like to dedicate an honorable mention towards the kid in the audience who started yelling alongside us.

Last Saturday to Rijssen we went,

With a foundation build on cement,

Victory was ours,

Shown were our powers

A winning streak is our intent
