Gents 5 - Apollo 8

Last Saturday we had the pleasure of playing in Borne against Apollo 8. Because our coaches couldn’t be there, and Mr. Oosterveld still was not allowed to play he coached us instead. To replace him and our other missing outside, we asked once again the help of Mr. van Dongen of gents 6 and our libero also had to play outside.

We started of strong as we made the first 14 points; 11 for ourselves and 3 for the opposing team. After that we weakened, and this set continued more equally ending in a victory of 18 – 25. The next set, we did not return to our former strength, and we let them get closer to us. The second set ended in 21 – 25. Continuing in the third set we hit our all time low as we lost the set with a 9-point difference. The final set however we ended with the monster score of 9 – 25.

Next Saturday is a moment we have been waiting for as we have a home game against Wevo 70 during a home weekend. Wevo 70 is currently the last in our competition so if we do not underestimate them and weaken in play as last week, we should be able to win.
