The "peaks" of the first match of the season

Now the new college year has started, we have as usual a new team and the start of a new season. After two weeks of thinking about a nice theme and creating a beautiful logo and movie, we could finally start with our first match of the year. Unfortunately, we were incomplete, but that didn't make it any less enjoyable. While being cheered from the bench, we did our best on the field to get the best possible result. This made it an exciting match with beautiful attacks, nasty balls but also a lukewarm fristi and a ripped short. And even though the opponent's coach exchanged setters for length at the net, we managed to still find a way toward her... Despite all that, we unfortunately did not manage to take home the win, but with a result of 2-3, we were not that dissatisfied.  Fortunately, we managed to end the evening on a positive note by having a drink together, eating cake, and then cheering for the other teams playing. And as if we didn't have enough fun together on Friday evening, after a silent night we were able to enjoy the next day with everyone's presence again. First, we had match duty, then our first team date of the year, and finally the team presentations, in which we were finally allowed to announce our theme: team Christmas Three, which fits very well with the coziness within the team. After all, no one deserves to be all alone at Christmas. All in all, we had a great weekend, even though we now have to say a final goodbye to the Roelvink yell.

Nu het nieuwe collegejaar is gestart, hebben we natuurlijk ook een nieuw team en de start van het nieuwe seizoen. Na twee weken na te hebben gedacht over een leuk thema en daar een leuk logo en filmpje bij gemaakt te hebben, mochten we dan ook eindelijk starten met onze eerste wedstrijd. Jammer genoeg waren we incompleet, maar dat maakte niet dat we het minder naar ons zin hadden en minder ons best deden. Al toegezongen vanaf de bank, deden we in het veld ons best er een zo mooi mogelijk resultaat uit te halen. Hierdoor werd het een spannende wedstrijd met mooie aanvallen, sluwe balletjes maar ook een lauwe fristi en een gescheurd Sportbroekje. En ook al wisselde de tegenstander hun coach de setters voor lengte aan het net, de weg naar haar wisten we toch een keer te vinden... Ondanks dat alles wisten we helaas niet de winst mee naar huis te nemen, maar met een uitslag van 2-3 waren we niet ontevreden.  Gelukkig wisten we de avond positief af te sluiten, door gezellig samen te drinken, taart te eten en vervolgens nog even de andere spelende teams aan te moedigen. En alsof we het vrijdagavond nog niet gezellig genoeg hadden met elkaar, mochten we na een stille nacht elkaar de hele dag met eenieders aanwezigheid verblijden. Eerst zaalwacht, vervolgens onze eerste teamdate van het jaar en afsluitend ook nog de teampresentaties, waarin we eindelijk ons thema bekend mochten maken: team Christmas Three, wat heel goed aansluit bij de gezelligheid binnen het team. Niemand verdient namelijk een eenzame kerst. Al met al hebben we dus een topweekend gehad, al moeten we nu wel defintief afscheid nemen van de yell Roelvink.
