eLeffen meets X

October 12th marked our first win of the season after the upset against Gents 9. Gents 10 gave us a good fight, but we knew that this match belonged to us and ended up taking that W with a score of 3-1.

Set 1 was a slow start, with points coming our way almost non-stop and we ended up taking a 25-9 set, guaranteeing us a pitcher. We were smelling victory and we were already planning to bankrupt our coach Johannes.

We met set 2 with a couple of surprises, as our brother duo had a bit of a hungover problem and our outsides were getting blocked. Balls were not hitting the ground on the opponent’s field as easily as we expected. This shocked us a bit and the set slipped out of our fingers, with Gents 10 taking it.

By set 3 we understood these guys also came with the same goal as us: winning and taking it home. We decided to start the set with a position change: Ivan went on the big defense, getting us blocks as a middle blocker now. With a bit of confusion, but determined, we took set 3.

Set 4 had to be decisive. We were sure this is our set and we had to get it no matter what. With the Tenners finally getting some hits in, we felt a bit of pressure, which had to be answered in a similar manner. Using the best of our defense and offense, we ended up coming back from a 4 point deficit, and we showed the other guys who the big bad wolf is.
